NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Dec 21, 2016) - Fiduciary Trust Company International, a global investment manager and wholly-owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton Investments, today announced that Arturo Giacosa has joined the firm as managing director and trust counsel of Fiduciary Trust International of the South. He will be based in the firm's Coral Gables, Florida office.

"Arturo brings over two decades of experience and deep expertise in cross-border tax and estate planning and family governance planning for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families," said Gail Cohen, chair and general trust counsel at Fiduciary Trust. Mr. Giacosa joins Fiduciary Trust from Itaú Private Bank, where he served as managing director and head of fiduciary and Hispanic wealth planning for Latin America clients. He has also held leadership positions at Citibank, where he served as head of Citi Trust's cross border advisory service team, head of wealth planning for Citi Private Bank North America and head of wealth planning for Citi Private Bank Latin America. Mr. Giacosa has also served as senior manager of tax global wealth services at KPMG. Prior to KPMG, he was in private practice focusing on international estate planning and asset protection.

Mr. Giacosa is a member of the Florida and American Bar Associations and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He received his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami and his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University.
