FRED'S ANNOUNCES THIRD QUARTER 2015 CONFERENCE CALL WEBCAST

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (November 13, 2015) - Fred's, Inc. (NASDAQ: FRED) today announced that it will provide an online Web simulcast of its third quarter 2015 earnings conference call on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. The Company's results for the third quarter ended October 31, 2015, will be released earlier that morning.

The live broadcast of Fred's conference call will begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on November 24, 2015. An online replay will be available approximately two hours following the conclusion of the live broadcast and will continue through December 3, 2015. A link to these events can be found at www.fredsinc.com.

Fred's, Inc. and subsidiaries operate 658 discount general merchandise stores and three specialty pharmacy-only locations in 15 states in the southeastern United States. Included in the store count are 19 franchised locations. Also, there are 374 full service pharmacy departments located within the Company's stores. Fred's, Inc. (Fred's) is engaged in the sale of general merchandise through its retail discount stores and full-service pharmacies. The Company sells general merchandise to its over 11 franchisees. The Company has approximately 556 retail stores in over 15 states mainly in the Southeastern United States. The Company is licensed to dispense pharmaceuticals in approximately 14 states. Fred's general merchandise selection includes an array of staple and discretionary products from brand names and its private label. The Company's prescription drugs are ordered by its pharmacies individually and shipped directly from the Company's primary pharmaceutical wholesaler, Cardinal Health, Inc., to the pharmacies approximately five days a week. Fred's Brand products include health, beauty and personal care products, household cleaning supplies, disposable diapers, pet foods, paper products and a variety of general merchandise, food and beverage products.
