Frontier Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:FTR) today announced the availability of E-PATH, the latest enhancement to its Ethernet Solutions portfolio.

Frontier’s Carrier channel has always supported a local IntraLATA 1Gbps Network-to-Network Interface (NNI) within its Metro EVPL offering. Now, E-PATH offers 10Gbps interfaces and the ability to move beyond a LATA restriction. Mike Daniel, Senior Vice President of Carrier Service for Frontier, noted, “A Carrier Regional ENNI solution eliminates the need to establish an Ethernet interface within each LATA of a state or market in which we operate.”

E-PATH has all of the characteristics of Frontier’s current EVPL offering, such as MEF 2.0 attributes, three classes of service, service level agreements (SLAs) and access to a near real-time SLA portal.

Frontier E-PATH is currently available in Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The company plans to offer it in northern California, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington in the first quarter of 2016 with additional phases throughout 2016.
