Frontier Communications Corp : Frontier "Gears Up" Again This Year with Mariners Great Jay Buhner to Play Ball

--Communications Company and Mariners Hall of Famer Get Area Little Leagues in Gear--

Frontier Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: FTR) and former Major League Baseball and Seattle Mariners great Jay Buhner are teaming up again this season to provide gear for area boys and girls Little League and youth baseball/softball programs. The "Get Your League in Gear" program will provide $1,000 worth of baseball/softball gear and uniforms to six lucky leagues in Washington state. Area residents can enter their league to win this valuable fundraising prize by going to an area Frontier retail store or visiting a Frontier tent at various youth sports and community events.

Mariners Hall of Famer and all-star Jay Buhner is a partner in the program. Buhner said, "One of the toughest things for youth baseball leagues during these difficult economic times across the country is to purchase new equipment and uniforms." Buhner continued, "Get Your League in Gear is a great way to get the entire baseball community in Washington state involved and help their league win $1,000 from Frontier. A thousand bucks will buy lots of great equipment."

"Get Your League in Gear" is a program designed by Frontier in partnership with 710-AM ESPN Seattle, 97.3 KIRO-FM and Kimmel Athletic Supply Company to provide $1,000 to six local Little League and youth baseball programs. New equipment and uniforms is the most important and highest expense for leagues across the United States yet it is the hardest for leagues to fund.

Frontier Senior Vice President and General Manager, Rich Klena said, "We are excited about helping young little leaguers get the right equipment so they can achieve their goals, dreams and just have fun out on the ball field. Frontier believes in connecting with the community and this is one way we do that."

The "Get Your League in Gear" program officially begins on April 13 and will run through August 18, 2011.
