In order to meet diverse customer needs, Fujifilm launched the new "FUJINON HF-XA series" of high-performance machine vision lenses compatible with 3-megapixel 2/3-inch image sensors. The lenses inhibit marginal illumination drop to achieve even sharpness to the edges, and achieved φ29.5mm dimension, smaller than the most common machine vision cameras measuring 30mm square, making the overall system compact. The lineup includes five models with the focal lengths of 8mm, 12mm, 16mm, 25mm and 35mm.
Including the new FUJINON HF-XA series, the entire lineup of FUJINON machine vision lenses expand 31 models in five series, addressing diverse customer needs.

Manufacturing machines and various inspection devices incorporate a "machine vision" image processing system that recognizes images replacing human eyes for determining positioning, distinguishing types, performing measurement and inspections. Each machine vision system consists of an optimum camera unit and lens, selected according to its application and items it needs to inspect. Currently, there is a need for enhancement in image recognition accuracy and processing speed for streamlined operation in production lines and inspection processes. This has led to the development of machine vision cameras with "larger sensor," "higher resolution" and "higher frame rate." Image data that an optical lens gathers holds the key to improving image processor's detection accuracy, which determines production efficiency and quality. This is why users seek "large sensor compatibility," "high resolution" and "brighter F number accommodating a high frame rate" in machine vision lenses, as well as "even corner-to-corner sharpness" that controls variations in image recognition accuracy between image center and corners.

Tapping into optical technologies and precision processing / assembling technologies nurtured over many years to offer a wide variety of lenses for the digital age of premium imaging, including broadcast lenses, cine camera lenses and surveillance camera lenses. In the machine vision field, which is anticipated to make further growth, the company will continue to deliver an extensive lineup of products developed in pursuit of advanced performance, best imaging and high quality in order to meet the needs of all customers.

Fujifilm will make a reference exhibit of the FUJINON HF-XA series of lenses in the "Industrial Automation Shenzhen 2015,", a machine vision related exhibition to be held in the Chinese city of Shenzhen from July 1st to July 3rd , 2015, and in the NEPCON Thailand Expo 2015, to start in Bangkok, Thailand on June 24th, 2015.
