Establishing new company in Thilawa Special Economic Zone for import and wholesale

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Kenji Sukeno) has established a new company FUJIFILM MYANMAR INVESTMENT LIMITED (hereinafter the new company) in order to strengthen its sales structures in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar (hereinafter Myanmar.)
The new company will import and wholesale Fujifilm's imaging, medical and graphics products in Myanmar which is expected to show strong future growth. The new company premises, which will include a distribution warehouse and a service training center, will be constructed in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone, with operations scheduled to start from spring 2017.

Myanmar, which has the 2nd largest land area of in Southeast Asia after Indonesia and a population of approximately 50 million people, has achieved continual real economic growth rate of over 7% since 2012. Since the launch of a new government in March of this year, the country's economic growth is expected to accelerate further, driven by increasing foreign investment and infrastructure development.

Fujifilm began business in Myanmar in the 1970s, focusing principally on imaging products such as photographic film and photographic paper. In December 2013, the company FUJIFILM MYANMAR LIMITED was established. Working through the local agencies, the company gained an understanding of local market needs and expanded sales channels which led to strengthening sales structures for imaging, medical, and graphics products.

Fujifilm, in line with the Myanmar government policy of reducing restrictions on foreign investment, has now taken the decision to establish a new company in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone for the import and wholesale of Fujifilm products. The new company will directly import and sell products and enhance marketing activities based on local needs and requirements. In addition, through the construction of its distribution warehouse, the company will be able to achieve timely and efficient product delivery. In order to reinforce customer support, the company will also set up a service training center to provide customers with demonstrations of and training on Fujifilm's products including photo print order systems, minilabs, digital X-ray medical diagnostic imaging systems, and Wide-Format inkjet printers. Through these measures, Fujifilm will strengthen its sales structures and accelerate the expansion of its business in Myanmar.

Through its seven subsidiary companies in the nations of Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar, Fujifilm is committed to expanding its business by providing solutions appropriate for the diversifying needs of markets in ASEAN, a region experiencing dramatic economic growth.
