Fujitsu Australia Limited

Sydney, 21 June 2011 — Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand Limited (FANZ) and NBN Co announced today that they have entered into a three-year contract to provide End User Technology Services (EUTS) – desktop support services – for all NBN Co staff.

The EUTS agreement, with a potential value of $25 million, will see Fujitsu provisioning NBN Co staff computing services to help NBN Co deliver high-speed broadband across Australia. This contract is in addition to the recent announcement by NBN of Fujitsu’s selection as its prime alliance partner to deliver fibre infrastructure to new developments.

FANZ will utilise its mature IT processes and over 25 years of experience in delivery of managed desktop, infrastructure and technology services in Australia to assist NBN Co to meet the requirements of its rapidly expanding internal operations in a cost-effective and controlled manner. Over the next year NBN Co expects to open offices in regional locations and continue to grow the organisation.

Steve Christian, NBN Co Head of Operations said: “NBN Co is pleased to add Fujitsu to the range of leading companies it is working with to provide the latest services to support its operations. After just two years, NBN Co has established a number of key supplier relationships and put in place most of the major components for the rollout and future operation of the business.”

Through the EUTS agreement NBN Co will also leverage the Fujitsu Group’s focus on innovation, ensuring NBN Co staff can support Australia’s national broadband network through the use of Fujitsu technology solutions. “The relationship with NBN complements Fujitsu’s long-term view of a human-centric network and connected communities,” said Craig Baty, CTO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand. “We see the NBN and its high-speed broadband network as a key enabler of the transition from the current network-centric world to human-centric computing.”

Mike Foster, CEO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said “ Fujitsu looks forward to working with NBN Co to meet its ambitious mandate of delivering high-speed broadband to every Australian. This Agreement represents a sound alignment of NBN Co’s objectives and Fujitsu’s capabilities and experience and leverages the investments we have made over the last few years in the area of managed services.”
