Analyst Update: Financial Results, and Strategic Tie-Ups

Reviewed by: Rohit Tuli, CFA(R)

U.S. stocks edged higher on Wednesday as better than expected earnings and strong existing home sales data bolstered investor sentiment. The NASDAQ advanced 0.42% to finish at 5,035.17, its third straight gain and just 13 points below its record close reached on March 10, 2000. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.49% or 88.35 points to 18,038.27, and the S&P 500 gained 0.50%, or 9.69 points to close the session at 2107.96. European stocks closed with a mixed note on Wednesday, depressed by increasing concern over Greece's bailout negotiations and disappointing earnings. Germany's DAX and Britain's FTSE 100 index slipped 0.6% and 0.5%, respectively, while France's CAC gained 0.36% on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Asian market continued their good run with The Shanghai Composite and Japan's Nikkei closing at new multi-year highs on Wednesday.

The Hackett Group, Inc. (Hackett Group) announced its strategic tie-up with The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to introduce the first comprehensive talent management and professional development qualification program specifically tailored for Global Business Services (GBS) and shared services professionals.

Gordmans Stores, Inc. reported that during the fourth quarter 2014 its net sales increased 1.9% to $203.9 million from $200.0 million in the same period prior year. Diluted earnings per share during the quarter were $0.12, which exceeded the guidance range of $0.05 to $0.08.

Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. collaborated with inRiver to help customers manage global Web communications across the content lifecycle, from creation and translation to publishing in a more quick, efficient and accurate manner.

Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc.'s consolidated net revenues totaled $36.3 million in Q4 2014, which reflected a decrease of $1.2 million or 3% on YoY basis. Q4 2014 operating income increased to $10.8 million from $9.4 million in Q4 2013, primarily due to the decrease in operating expenses, which was partially offset by a decrease in net revenues.

Gaiam, Inc. announced its three-year partnership with the Give Back Yoga Foundation, which is non-profit organization dedicated to making yoga available to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity to cultivate a regular practice- including at-risk youth and veterans with PTSD.
