Oct 6, 2016 - The National Conditions Education (Macau) Association recently organized the second 'Macau Local youngsters Military Defense Activity' where 100 local primary students and Galaxy Entertainment Group ('GEG') volunteers were invited for a visit to the People's Liberation Army ('PLA') Macau Garrison ('Garrison'). The group visited the Garrison's PLA Military Museum and the PLA Historical Museum. Students said that the visit helped improved their understanding of the PLA's defense training, the uses of its defense equipment, the military history of China, and their overall knowledge on national conditions education.

A hundred primary five and six students from the Workers' Children High School, Macau (Primary School) received a warm afternoon welcome from National Conditions Education (Macau) Association President Jack Wang and GEG volunteers at the Garrison, whose Military Museum is the first PLA Military Museum built by the PLA outside of mainland China. Led by the Garrison officers, GEG volunteers and students received a guided tour to the Military Museum's first floor, to where photos and histories of the PLA were kept, including historical artifacts, sculptures and videos that showed former Presidents of the People's Republic of China Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao, as well as the current President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping inspecting the PLA during army marches and drills. Located on the third and fourth floor, the PLA Historical Museum is a fine arts corridor where the transcripts of President Xi Jinping's quotes on the Basic Law of Macau, the military law, and handwritings of Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Edmund Ho and Chief Executive of Macau SAR Fernando Chui are stored.

Apart from the museum visits, students also toured the military weapons and equipment display area. Under the supervision of Garrison officers, students were given an opportunity to touch the weapons and learn about its weight and functionality. GEG volunteers also helped in looking after the students and joined them in learning the basics about military artillery. The Association considers the Garrison visit crucial in helping students understand how the PLA's presence helps promote national conditions education, foster young people's national pride and patriotism towards our motherland and contribute to China's ongoing development.

After the tour, the students bid farewell to the Association's representatives, GEG volunteers, and Garrison officers. GEG and National Conditions Education (Macau) Association will continue to actively promote national conditions education, nurture the patriotism of Macau's young people, and strengthen their national identity.
