Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE: GCI) today named Joseph Calchi president and publisher of the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill, NJ, and The Daily Journal in Vineland, NJ. Calchi was previously general manager and advertising director at The Daily Journal.

“There is no one that knows the southern New Jersey community better than Joe,” said Bob Dickey, president, Gannett U.S. Community Publishing. “He’s spent most of his life in the area and will bring a great wealth of knowledge to his new role. We look forward to Joe leading both the Courier-Post and The Daily Journal.”

Calchi has spent his entire career at The Daily Journal. He began as an account executive in 1985 and has since held numerous positions in sales and advertising. He has been advertising director since 1996 and added the general manager role in 2010. Calchi has won Gannett’s President’s Ring for Excellence in Advertising award twice as well as numerous New Jersey Press Association awards.

Calchi is a graduate of Cumberland County College in Vineland. He is married with one daughter.
