GOLDEN VALLEY, MN--(Marketwired - Feb 24, 2014) - KARE 11 in the Minneapolis/St. Paul DMA recorded the highest viewing of any market in the USA for the Sochi Olympics. KARE's average household rating over 17 days of prime Olympic was a 19.1 rating with a 36 share which beat second place Salt Lake City.

KARE 11 was the highest viewed household (HH) station for 13 of the 17 nights of coverage. Demographic ratings which are more important to advertisers were more dominant. In the AD 25-54 demographic most coveted by advertisers, KARE 11 finished first with a 12.6 rating/33 share.

KARE 11's late news was also highest in the country by a wide margin averaging a 8.5 rating/27 share in AD 25-54.
