August 19, 2015 - Garmin International is pleased to announce that a number of its professional marine anglers will be competing in the 2015 Forrest Wood Cup Championship, the tournament that offers the sport's richest prize, at Lake Ouachita in Hot Springs, Ark., Aug. 20-23. Eight professional anglers (out of a field of 50 pros) will be representing the company and fishing with Garmin electronics in the Cup.

The Garmin anglers competing at this year's FLW Cup include four of the current top-20 FLW Tour leaders: Scott Martin (first place), Andy Morgan (ninth place), Stetson Blaylock (15th place), and Clark Wendlandt (18th place). Other Garmin pros competing in the Cup include Todd Auten, Ramie Colson Jr., Mark Daniels Jr.,and Clent Davis.

Martin, the current points leader, 2015 Angler of the Year, and long-time Garmin pro, is no stranger to Lake Ouachita. He made professional bass-fishing history by becoming the 16th Forrest Wood Cup champion there in 2011, and will once again be using Garmin electronics on his boat at this year's championship.

Several of the Garmin anglers competing for the Cup are fresh off of an impressive finish at the last regular season FLW Tour event at the Potomac River in June. Wendlandt, who placed first; Morgan, who placed second; and Martin, who placed sixth, all fished this year's tournament trail with Garmin electronics on their boats, including the new Panoptix™ All-Seeing Sonar, a revolutionary technology that provides a real-time video-like view of what's in front of the boat in real time, even while stationary. Another Garmin pro, Darrel Robertson, finished fourth at the Potomac River and was a "bubble boy" for the Cup.

In addition to being equipped with best-in-class sonar technology, Garmin pros also compete with the help of some of the industry's most sophisticated charplotters and multifunction displays, and the most detailed lake maps available on the market today. They fish with the popular Garmin echoMAP™ and GPSMAP® chartplotter/combo devices, available with display sizes ranging from a four- to 16-inches, that feature built-in Garmin DownVü™ and SideVü™ scanning sonar as well as CHIRP and traditional sonar.
