ENGLEWOOD, Colo., April 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Garmin International Inc., a unit of Garmin Ltd. (NASDAQ: GRMN), and Jeppesen, a part of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, today announced the addition of Jeppesen VFR Manual charts (formerly known as "Bottlang" charts) for Europe with the Garmin GTN 750 series. This completes the availability of Jeppesen European VFR data across all Garmin avionics that support digital charts in ChartView, including G1000(®), G2000(TM), G3000(TM) and select Garmin portables[1].

"Teaming with Garmin to offer our VFR Manual charts establishes new avenues to connect with the European VFR pilot base," said Scott Reagan, director, Jeppesen OEM Client Management. "The Jeppesen VFR Manual has a long and established history with providing general aviation pilots in Europe with the top flight information available and we look forward to further enhancing this relationship with those using Garmin avionics."

Jeppesen VFR Manual charts provide pilots with the most comprehensive European VFR flight guide available, covering more than 2,200 airports in 29 European countries. To help plan and execute VFR flights within Europe, the VFR Manual includes Visual Approach, Landing and Area charts.

The GTN 750 is a fully integrated GPS/NAV/COM/MFD, which allows pilots to easily view VFR Manual charts overtop the moving map page for enhanced situational awareness throughout European airspace. High-resolution terrain mapping, graphical flight planning, geo-referenced charts and the display of traffic and weather can also be situated alongside flight plan information so pilots can view pertinent information at a glance.

"Providing our customers with the capability to display Jeppesen VFR Manual data on the GTN 750 series gives pilots access to an extensive amount of airport and approach information, while also reducing use of paper in the cockpit and improving overall situational awareness while operating in VFR conditions throughout Europe," said Carl Wolf, Garmin's vice president of aviation sales and marketing. "In conjunction with Jeppesen, we're excited to expand global chart access into these premier Garmin products so pilots can fly with their preferred charts and have quick and easy access to the chart information they need in the cockpit."

Updates for Jeppesen VFR Manual charts follow the standard 28-day cycle for chart revisions.
