Gartner, Inc. is accepting nominations for the fifth annual Gartner Enterprise Information and Master Data Management (MDM) Excellence Awards. Nominations will be accepted until January 24, 2014 via the online entry form found here. The winner will be announced at the Gartner Enterprise Information and Master Data Management Summit in April and the three finalists will have the opportunity to present their case studies during the summit. This award program highlights world-class Enterprise Information Management (EIM) initiatives and shares successes, challenges and insights within the space.

Entries will be reviewed by the Gartner Analyst Community who will assess the EIM initiative against Gartner's Seven Building Blocks of MDM. Applicants should use this framework to describe their EIM initiative and highlight why it demonstrates EIM Excellence. Gartner's seven building blocks of MDM framework describe the essential elements that organizations need to address in an EIM program. Striking the right balance between technology and governance, as well as ensuring that the EIM strategy aligns with the business vision and can be measured via a set of metrics, is key to success. The seven building blocks of all EIM include:

  • Vision
  • Strategy
  • Metrics
  • Governance
  • Organization
  • Information Lifecycle
  • Information Infrastructure

The identification of a Gartner Award winner or finalist is not an endorsement by Gartner of any vendor, product or service.
