Earlier today, the Director of Gas Natural Andalucía, Raúl Suárez, and the company's representatives in the city of Sevilla, Francisco Herrera, and Sevilla municipalities, Antonio Aguilar, presented the results of corporate activity in 2014 and the main lines of action for this year.

Gas Natural Andalucía, the distribution subsidiary of GAS NATURAL FENOSA in this autonomous region, invested approximately 42 million euros last year as part of its ongoing infrastructure expansion and development plan for strategic parts of the region.

The company is maintaining its commitment to Andalusia, where it plans to invest over 132 million euros in the period 2014-2016 and has already invested close to 520 million euros over the last 10 years.

Looking ahead to 2015, Gas Natural Andalucía expects to begin supplying the towns of Pozoblanco and Priego de Cordoba in Cordoba province and Cartaya and Gibraleon in Huelva, among others, thanks to an investment of approximately 40 million euros as part of its ongoing development of infrastructure in strategic parts of the region.

The company's growth areas in the region this year include the provinces of Cordoba and Granada, the Costa del Sol and the metropolitan area of Sevilla, as well as the municipalities associated with the gas pipeline between Huelva and Ayamonte and the towns of Roquetas de Mar, Vicar and El Ejido in Almeria.

Gas Natural Andalucía has the support of the regional and local authorities for expanding its distribution network and providing its service to new companies and households. Increased implementation of natural gas services in Andalusia is of major importance to meeting the objectives set by the Sustainable Energy Plan of Andalusia (Spanish acronym: PASENER), drawn up and developed by the Regional Government of Andalusia.


Commitment to Andalusia

Gas Natural Andalucía closed the 2014 financial year with almost 405,800 supply points, which means that close to 1.3 million residents of Andalusia now have access to this form of energy. The company operates in 90 municipalities of the region thanks to a distribution network covering close to 5,100 kilometres.

The gas distribution subsidiary of GAS NATURAL FENOSA began supplying natural gas to the municipalities of Los Palacios and Villafranca (Sevilla) and Punta Umbria (Huelva) in 2014.

Over the course of last year, the company also launched its Tierras de Almería project that, with an investment of 1.6 million euros and a distribution network over 12 kilometres in length, supplies gas to greenhouses in western Almeria.

A gas supplier with a major presence Seville

In 2014 and thanks to an investment of 11.7 million euros, Gas Natural Andalucía surpassed 157,800 supply points in Sevilla, making it the top province in this region in terms of the number of users. The distribution network of almost 1,570 kilometres enables 473,500 residents of Sevilla to now enjoy the benefits and convenience of this source of energy.

This year, the company expects to maintain the line of investment seen in previous years and thus continue expanding its networks in the province of Sevilla, especially in the Aljarafe area.

The company distributes natural gas in 29 cities throughout the province: Alcalá de Guadaíra, Almensilla, Bollullos de la Mitación, Bormujos, Camas, Carmona, Castilleja de la Cuesta, Coria del Río, Dos Hermanas, Écija, Espartinas, Estepa, Gelves, Gines, Herrera, La Algaba, La Rinconada, La Roda de Andalucía, Los Palacios y Villafranca, Mairena del Aljarafe, Morón de la Frontera, Osuna, Palomares del Río, San Juan de Aznalfarache, Sevilla, Tomares, Umbrete, Utrera and Valencina de la Concepción.

GAS NATURAL FENOSA undertakes various social and cultural activities in Sevilla as part of its commitment to the development of Andalusia, sponsoring a wide range of initiatives that generate high value for society in all those areas where the company operates.

Hence, the company has been sponsoring such cultural activities in Andalusia as the support for the Teatro de la Maestranza in Sevilla since 2011 and the Granada International Music and Dance Festival since 2009. Furthermore, it is a founding trustee of the Technology Corporation of Andalusia and collaborates with various social and business entities.
