The project will require the construction of 2,000 metres of distribution network to supply natural gas to more than 20 companies in Onzonilla (León).

  • Six customers have already requested the gas supply service for their industries.

Gas Natural Castilla y León has begun work on implementing the natural gas network that will serve Phase II of the Onzonilla Industrial Estate in León. The project will require the distribution company to make an investment of almost 200,000 euros.

The company has already laid nearly 1,000 metres of pipes to create a connection from the existing network in Phase I of the industrial estate to Phase II, crossing the N-630 highway that separates the two areas.

Over the coming weeks, the company will continue to lay more pipes along the various roads on the industrial estate in order to bring a supply to all those customers requesting the service. One company is already connected to this new network and six others have requested the service.

The supply of this energy will benefit the more than 20 companies based in this area of the industrial estate and will help attract new industrial investment to the town.

Natural gas is the most in-demand form of energy in the commercial and industrial sectors for a number of reasons, including its economical nature, environmental factors and convenience. It is a clean energy in constant supply that also enables a saving of over 30% when compared with other forms of energy, such as propane or diesel.

Presence in the region

Gas Natural Castilla y León has 61,800 supply points in 22 municipalities in León, which means that more than 80,000 León residents use this energy through a distribution network measuring 735 kilometres.

In Castile and León, the company already provides service to more than 500,000 users in the provinces of Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid and Zamora, through 4,400 kilometres of gas network.
