The energy company invested more than 500,000 euros in bringing gas to the town and has now begun supplying its first customers.

Through its distribution company - Gas Natural Distribución, GAS NATURAL FENOSA has begun supplying gas to the town of l'Ampolla, in the province of Tarragona. The company has invested over half a million euros in bringing a gas supply to the town, work that included installing 2.6 kilometres of pipes.

From this week, close to one hundred properties can now enjoy a natural gas service and it is expected that 1,600 could be receiving a supply within the next few years.

The leading power company in Catalonia

The power company distributes natural gas to 360 municipalities in Catalonia. Thanks to an investment of nearly 67 million euros, it added 40,889 new supply points to the Catalan network in 2013, bringing the total to over 2.16 million.

The penetration rate (supply points divided by the total number of households in Catalonia) stands at 54%, which is above the 27% average for Spain. This figure is due to the company's investment efforts over the last 20 years, during which time it has invested 1.4 billion euros to increase and improve its gas distribution business.

Through its distribution company, GAS NATURAL FENOSA invested 13.71 million euros in the Tarragona region in 2013. These investments were mainly allocated to building new networks, as well as the renovation and improvement of existing infrastructure.
