• The award was presented as part of the 11th HRO Today Forum Europe, a European forum for debate on the latest trends and tools emerging in the field of human resources.

Earlier today, GAS NATURAL FENOSA received the prize for Best Human Resources Programme of the Year in the EMEA region at the HRO Today Awards in international recognition of its Employee Care Service (SAE) from among over 500 nominated projects. The tool was launched by the power company in 2012 to provide its employees with a centralised channel via which to respond to all HR-related requests through a single team, thereby guaranteeing uniformity in response times and quality of service.

The prize recognises innovation in human resources and the construction of technologies that add value to the company and contribute to the objectives set for the Human Resources Department and the company itself. The prize to Best Human Resources Programme of the Year in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) is awarded by the HRO Today Services and Technology Association, one of the main associations worldwide in the field of HR innovation.

The presentation of prizes and certificates to finalists took part within the framework of the 11th HRO Today Forum Europe, a European forum taking place from 11 to 13 November in Edinburgh. The event was attended by over 250 professionals and analysts to debate the latest trends in the field of human resources, talent management and human resources programmes within companies.

The Employee Care Service (SAE)

The GAS NATURAL FENOSA Employee Care Service (SAE) concentrates all administrative tasks involving company employees into staff administration, social benefits, internal mobility, training and remuneration. Procedures can be undertaken via numerous channels: by using the telephone helpline service, by using the self-management platform on the corporate Intranet, by using a web channel for employees or by e-mail. Requests are handled by a dedicated human resources team that includes specialists in each area to provide a flexible, efficient and accessible platform.

So far, the service has led to improved quality of service, an almost 30% increase in employee satisfaction, a 50% increase in process efficiency and an almost 60% decrease in incidents and procedures. Over the course of last year, the service successfully dealt with over 50,000 queries, requests and incidents from the entire workforce of the power company.

Accenture Strategy has been a partner company in the project, working with all other areas of Accenture to help implement the various technologies involved in the service, establish the roadmap and launch the Employee Care Service. Accenture is a global management, technology services and outsourcing consultancy company that employs over 305,000 professionals who offer their services to clients in more than 120 different countries. Accenture works with clients to help them become high-performance businesses and governments.
