Gas Natural SDG : Club Fluvial de Lugo to reduce energy consumption at its installations by up to 35% thanks to agreement with Gas Natural Fenosa

• The power company will undertake comprehensive energy management of the installations, which includes the implementation of a sports complex improvement project and maintenance of the installations.

• The energy efficiency agreement will enable renovation and optimisation of the pool and spa heating systems at the club in Lugo, which are the installations most used by its members.

• Members will be able to benefit from these important improvements at the end of February.

The President of Club Fluvial de Lugo, Modesto Teijeiro, and the Tailored Solutions Director of GAS NATURAL FENOSA for Spain and Portugal, Alberto Fariza, have signed an agreement that will improve energy efficiency at the sports installations of the club in Lugo. The agreement will lead to the renovation and optimisation of the pool and spa heating systems at the club in Lugo, reducing current expenditure on energy supply and maintenance by up to 35%, as well as CO emissions.

The company will undertake comprehensive energy management of the sports complex, which includes the implementation of an installations improvement project, maintenance of the new equipment and management of possible subsidies. The project provides for the replacement of existing equipment for generating heat/cold with other, more efficient equipment capable of meeting demand and reducing current consumption levels at the installations.

GAS NATURAL FENOSA will invest 163,000 euros in renovating the heating equipment, which includes an indoor swimming pool heater, the network of air distribution conduits, refurbishment of the electrical installations and replacement of all pipes and valves at the sports complex. The power company created an especially tailor-made proposal with the best commercial offer to suit the needs of Club Fluvial de Lugo, which will enable a significant saving in energy consumption.

The heated swimming pool is one of the most popular installations among members of this club, the management of which has decided to undertake these renovations. The new heating equipment will provide the pool with better conditions for the practice of swimming.Members will be able to benefit from these important improvements at the end of February.

Club Fluvial de Lugo is a non-profit sports association that was set up in 1936, which now has approximately 17,000 users. Located on the banks of the River Miño, it offers a wide range of leisure services and possibilities that include a heated swimming pool, waterpark, tennis courts, football pitches, basketball courts, canoeing, aerobic activities, gyms, library, cafeteria and restaurant.

Frisaqués S.L.U will be the company responsible for undertaking the installation of the new heating equipment, for both the indoor swimming pool and the spa. The saving obtained from these improvements will convert Club Fluvial Lugo into a pioneering organisation in terms of energy efficiency.
