Gas Natural SDG : Fenosa awarded tender to supply electricity and gas to Correos premises

• The multinational power company will supply 485 GWh of electricity and 58 GWh of natural gas until 31 December 2019.

• The estimated budget for the contract amounts to 85 million euros, including tax.

Gas Natural Comercializadora, a subsidiary of GAS NATURAL FENOSA, has been awarded the four lots tendered by Sociedad Estatal Correos y Telégrafos for the supply of electricity and natural gas to its premises, as well as the total management of those supplies.The contract, which will last until 31 December 2019, has an estimated budget of 85 million euros, including tax.

The three electricity lots will supply 3,456 supply points, which include all the offices and logistics centres of the State-owned company. In total, they represent consumption of close on 142 gigawatts hour (GWh) per year; 485 GWh for the contract as a whole. In turn, the natural gas lot includes 79 supply points, with a consumption of approximately 17 GWh per year; in other words, 58 GWh over the term of the contract.

The contract, which will remain in effect for 41 months, includes the option for an additional extension of three months until 31 March 2020. Gas Natural Comercializadora had also been the previous energy supplier to Correos until now.

Gas Natural Comercializadora is one of the leading energy companies in the Spanish wholesale sector, with a turnover in 2015 of almost 7 billion euros.

Among other contracts, Gas Natural Comercializadora was recently awarded the electricity supply to Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport for the sum of 21.41 million euros.
