• The Plan develops in depth, the eight commitments in the company's Corporate Responsibility Policy, by way of a detailed analysis of 50 issues relevant to different stakeholders and the community.

GAS NATURAL FENOSA has launched its new Sustainability Master Plan, which encompasses financial, social and environmental issues, and aims to improve the multinational's sustainability and flexibility across all levels of the organisation. The Plan is a result of the company's commitments to its different stakeholders.

The Plan develops the eight commitments made in the company's Corporate Responsibility Policy: Excellence in service; Commitment to results; Environmental management; Interest in people; Health and Safety; Responsible management of the supply chain; Social commitment; and Integrity and transparency.

These eight broad goals have been defined through detailed analysis of 50 issues relevant to the different areas in the company, in accordance with the 2020 Strategic Plan. In addition, other factors have also been analysed, such as risks, regulatory trends and requirements by interest groups, including investors, and sustainability indexes and rankings.

In the words of the general manager of Communication and Institutional Relations Jordi Garcia Tabernero: 'GAS NATURAL FENOSA's track record in the area of sustainability has been recognised by important indexes and ranking systems, such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, FTSE4Good and the Carbon Disclosure Project. Now, taking into account new trends and the momentum we want to maintain in this area, we have designed a plan with the aim of being one of the benchmark companies for sustainability.'

39 lines of action and 178 specific actions

Within the Master Plan, the company has detailed 39 lines of action, under which there are 178 specific actions. These actions work on issues where the company has placed its focus, such as on the fight against energy vulnerability, for which GAS NATURAL FENOSA has just launched a specific action plan.

Other noteworthy actions include those relating to energy efficiency; sustainable mobility; air quality and climate change; the diversity and well-being of employees; codes of ethics and anti-corruption policies; fiscal good practices; sustainable innovation; digitalisation initiatives; natural capital and the circular economy; the diversity and well-being of employees; codes of ethics and anti-corruption policies; fiscal good practices; communication with investors who have sustainability criteria and extending these criteria to the supply chain, among others.

In compliance with another of the recommendations by the Code of Good Governance, the Board of Directors delegated responsibilities relating to sustainability to the Appointments and Remuneration Committee, which will supervise this Plan's implementation and drive it forward.
