• The company will replace two aerial transformer stations and will install more than 1.3 kilometres of underground medium-voltage lines.
  • The works, which are part of the company's investment plan, will benefit nearly 3,000 local customers.

Unión Fenosa Distribución, the electricity distribution subsidiary of GAS NATURAL FENOSA, will invest 315,000 euros in improving the electricity distribution network around the park and church in Castrelos, in the province of Vigo. The electricity company will then dismantle two aerial transformer stations located near Pazo de Quiñones and in A Ponte Nova, and replace them with a new remotely-controlled indoor transformer station which will reduce the visual impact of the installations.

The improvement works have been developed in partnership with the Regional Government of Vigo, so they will take advantage of the humanisation works planned for the area. The Regional Government also facilitated the provision of a premises where the new transformer station is to be located.

The project also includes the dismantling of more than 1.3 kilometres of aerial medium-voltage lines located around Pazo Quiñones de León that run from near the Castrelos Church towards A Laxe parish and all the way to the A Ponte Nova area. This line will be replaced by an underground line stretching nearly two kilometres. It will also dismantle around one kilometre of aerial low-voltage lines near Pazo de Castrelos, and replace it with a new underground line stretching nearly 630 metres.

This project is included in Unión Fenosa Distribución's investment plan for this year to improve the quality of service provided to nearly 3,000 local customers.
