MOSCOW--Ukraine may buy less gas from Russia than originally planned in 2013, Ukrainian Energy Minister Yury Boiko said Wednesday, the Interfax news agency reported.
Mr. Boiko said Moscow and Kiev have "certainly" agreed a gas deal for next year. Asked whether Ukraine would buy the 27 billion cubic meters of gas, Mr. Boiko said: "I think we will buy even less than that."
The CEO of Naftogaz, Ukraine's national oil and gas company, said last week Ukraine had contracted 27 bcm of gas from Russia for 2013.
