NIPIGAZpererabotka and China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) today signed in Moscow in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, a contract according to which the Chinese company will carry out construction and install cryogenic gas separation units (to be supplied by Germany's Linde) at the Amur gas processing plant.

The document was inked by Dmitry Konov, Chairman of the Management Board of SIBUR, on behalf of NIPIGAZpererabotka (part of the SIBUR Group, construction manager for the Amur GPP) and Chen Xiaohua, Vice President of CGGC, on behalf of CGGC.

Pursuant to the contract, CGGC will be engaged in the aforementioned activities as a contractor. The main subcontractor for the project will be selected from among Russian construction companies.

Background

The Amur GPP will be the largest gas processing plant in Russia and one of the biggest in the world. It will have a design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The GPP will also include the world's largest helium production facility (up to 60 million cubic meters per year).

The investor and customer for the Amur GPP construction project is Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk (part of the Gazprom Group).

NIPIGAZ (NIPIGAZpererabotka) is Russia's leading center for design, supplies, logistics and construction management.

Linde AG will supply the Amur GPP with the core process equipment for cryogenic recovery of helium and valuable petrochemical substances from gas.

China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation will design, manufacture and supply equipment, as well as build booster compressor shops and gas dehydration, purification and fractionation units for the Amur GPP.

The consortium of Tecnimont and Sinopec will design, provide logistical support for, and construct the off-site facilities of the Amur GPP.

China Gezhouba Group Corporation is a major state-owned Chinese company focused on constructing hydraulic, hydroelectric, thermoelectric, nuclear electric and oil and gas facilities.
