Innovative security technologies focus on confidentiality and data protection

The email experts at GROUP Business Software (GBS) announce the release of the newest version of iQ.Suite, their email management solution for all leading email platforms. The solutions iQ.Suite 18.0 for IBM Notes/Domino and iQ.Suite 14.0 for Microsoft Exchange/SMTP offer numerous innovations focussing on email security in particular.

"Security is becoming more and more important in light of the increasingly frequent cyber attacks on email infrastructures. The most recent version of iQ.Suite is our response to the heightened need for security when sending and receiving emails," says Andreas Richter, GBS' EVP Marketing & Product Management.

One of the highlights of the new version is iQ.Suite PDFCrypt. This innovative solution simplifies confidential email communication by automatically embedding outgoing email texts and attachments in a PDF file and encrypting them prior to sending. A decryption solution is not required on the part of the recipient, who merely enters a PDF password delivered under separate cover. iQ.Suite PDFCrypt is intuitive and safe; roll out is easy and fast. The solution is cost efficient and especially well-suited for B2C communication.

With iQ.Suite DLP, GBS focuses on data leakage prevention and incorporates outgoing emails into a comprehensive IT security concept. "Customers are increasingly demanding solutions to prevent data theft. With iQ.Suite DLP, we've developed a solution that protects our clients from unwanted data leakage, using the four eyes principle to evaluate suspicious or confidential contents," notes Herbert Heder, GBS' EVP Sales. Content checks with iQ.Suite are conducted centrally and based on pre-defined rules. Accidental or intentional sending of client lists to competitors, for example, can be reliably prevented this way.

Thanks to the new iQ.Suite Cockpit, a glance is all it takes for administrators to review the status of their email communication. The easy-to-manage, web-based solution provides a transparent overview of company-wide, legally compliant email communication, thereby aiding in implementing security measures as early as possible. Users are able to view how effectively and safely their email management solution is operating at any time. This includes information about the number of emails cleared of malware, for example, or about the strain on one's own infrastructure, making it possible to draw conclusions about current threat levels.

Security levels of electronic email communication already protected by iQ.Suite can be further optimized by integrating Kaspersky Anti-Virus Engine into iQ.Suite Watchdog, iQ.Suite's anti-malware module. Kaspersky virus protection provides optional extended cloud-based protection as well.

In addition to these advancements, GBS continues to expand their portfolio, especially regarding mobility. The company has recently announced iQ.Suite Clerk, an app for Android and iOS, which will be available in July. i.Q Suite Clerk enables staff to manage their absences from anywhere. Absence management due to sudden sickness, for example, or during a vacation can be activated remotely via emails on smartphones or tablets, eliminating the need for staff to be present in the office.
