GROUP Business Software Europa GmbH (GBS) focuses on the GBS AppDesigner, the platform independent solution for automating business processes, at this year's CeBIT exhibit. The interplay between Microsoft SharePoint 2013/2016 and Office 365, used in many businesses as collaboration platforms, takes centre stage.

Hall 2, stand A30 is where the workflow experts can be found, using numerous live scenarios to demonstrate how easily business processes can be integrated directly into Microsoft SharePoint with the AppDesigner. 'The ongoing digitalisation in companies means that the importance of automating business processes is growing from day to day. In our eyes, the GBS AppDesigner is the heart of a future-oriented digital strategy, comfortably moving previously manual or paper-based processes into the digital world', explains Constanze Zarth, Managing Director at GBS. With the GBS AppDesigner, users have an intuitive tool with which to create and use simple forms like vacation requests as well as highly complex workflow-based business processes, such as in complaint management.

The GBS AppDesigner for SharePoint can be used either on premises within an individual business infrastructure or cloud-based in Office 365. 'Microsoft Office 365 is gaining acceptance and is now prevalent in many German companies. Integrating enterprise workflow management is the next logical step. We have designed and developed the GBS AppDesigner to be used directly from Office 365, simplifying business process management significantly', summarizes Andreas Richter, EVP Marketing & Product Management at GBS.

For the CeBIT, GBS has announced numerous other innovations for the GBS AppDesigner in addition to their support for SharePoint 2016 and Office 365: User management in the GBS AppDesigner now accommodates the needs of enterprise customers by deepening the integration of Active Directory. Support for Windows Server 2016 has been made available. And a further development enables issuing access rights at the user level, easing the administration of business processes created with the GBS AppDesigner by allowing only authorised individuals access to certain business processes.

At home not only in the Microsoft universe, the GBS AppDesigner is comfortable in the IBM world, too. The creation of workflow-based business processes with the GBS AppDesigner has been simplified and expedited comprehensively. In time for the CeBIT, the GBS AppDesigner for IBM Domino has been improved further, with particular attention paid to increased user friendliness, including precise search and filtering functions in layouts and more flexible navigation.
