Technology-driven innovation - «World in Progress»: robots are gradually becoming part of our daily lives through the central role they play in the latest technology-driven innovations. Whether android or domestic, find out more about how robots are changing our environment and the way we behave.

Wherever you look around the world, hi-tech companies and universities are working on android robots that look like us. Researchers have proved that creating robots with human characteristics could help us to interact more naturally - and therefore more effectively - with them. For example, the Nao robot created by the French company Aldebaran Robotics has been at work since last year helping to focus the attention of autistic children. Maja Cepanec, a researcher at the University of Zagreb: «The idea is not to replace the therapist, but rather to help the therapist collect data and codify behavior».

Many companies are now designing innovative robots and applications to create fully-connected homes and improve building energy efficiency. In a wider world where energy saving has become a necessity, domotics holds out many attractive possibilities: greater comfort, improved security for property and people, and even systems that regulate energy consumption. Last year, Google bought 7 robotics companies in a clear demonstration of how important this fast-growing sector has become.
