FAIRFAX, Va., July 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) will continue its support of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)'s Research and Development High Performance Computing System (R&D HPCS). NOAA awarded CSRA LLC, a managed affiliate of GDIT, the $553 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract. It includes a base period of nine years with one option year.

"We are honored to continue our work with NOAA and support this critical element of their computing infrastructure," said Senior Vice President Paul Nedzbala, head of GDIT's Federal Civilian Division. "GDIT brings extensive experience delivering high-performance computing services to a large and diverse portfolio of government customers. This contract will further enhance NOAA's supercomputing resources and support their critical mission, which includes improving weather and hurricane forecast models."

CSRA LLC was awarded the initial contract on May 7, 2010. The new contract was signed on June 14, 2018, with a period of performance through June 13, 2028.
