FAIRFAX, Va., April 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) has been awarded a contract by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) for the U.S. Army Information Technology Agency (USAITA) to support the Services Directorate Enterprise Data Center Enterprise Backup, Mainframe and Server Services Program at the Pentagon. This one-year contract with one option year has a potential value of $20.2 million if all options are exercised.

Under this contract, General Dynamics will provide unclassified and classified mainframe computerized processing for ITA users worldwide, as well as management of server and application hosting and storage services. The company will also define metrics to measure performance and develop a design solution to migrate the directorate to a service-oriented architecture framework.

General Dynamics has supported the USAITA at the Pentagon in multiple facets for more than 15 years. The company will leverage its experience and in-depth knowledge of the Pentagon's IT infrastructure to continue to enhance data center operations and management through this new contract with USAITA. General Dynamics has also supported data center infrastructures for the Mark Center and the U.S. Army Reserve Command.

This contract was awarded to General Dynamics One Source, which comprises General Dynamics Information Technology, General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems and General Dynamics C4 Systems.
