PLYMOUTH, MA--(Marketwired - Oct 15, 2014) - On the heels of launching their new Cloud-based Predictive Facilities Management™ solution, FacilityConneX® today announced a new partnership with B2Q Associates Inc., a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in M/E/P design, commissioning, efficiency and energy engineering services.

Last month, GE Intelligent Platforms (NYSE: GE) and longtime partner AutomaTech launched FacilityConneX®, a new enterprise cloud monitoring solution that delivers advanced asset monitoring, fault detection analytics, continuous energy management, and equipment optimization -- anytime, anywhere via browser, tablet, or smartphone.

Powered by GE Proficy® Software, FacilityConneX is a new cloud-based solution that's pre-configured to connect with over 200 system and equipment protocols located anywhere throughout your facility or remote locations. It connects machines, data, insights, and people -- providing an anytime, anywhere "Smart View" of infrastructure problems and performance.

For the thousands of professionals involved in managing facility systems and equipment, analyzing performance has never been an easy task. Building Automation Systems have traditionally provided historical data, forcing building managers to take corrective actions only when they have the time to study the data and react "when they have the time to get to it". The result is costly lost opportunities to optimize performance, and the longer the delay in taking action, the costlier the lost opportunity. FacilityConneX provides advanced, real-time monitoring technology enabling facilities managers to not only identify and better prevent failures, but also helps maximize equipment and utility infrastructure efficiencies, and dramatically reduce overall costs.

To better meet the predictive performance challenge, the newly formed partnership will combine FacilityConneX' advanced technology, with B2Q's successful track record in designing and implementing successful efficiency projects in thousands of commercial, industrial, and public facilities across the east coast. B2Q brings a deep technical understanding of predictive performance analytics -- and the experience in leveraging this data to help maximize virtually any facility performance application.

FacilityConneX is the result of combining the engineering and efficiency expertise of B2Q with the automation and systems integration expertise of AutomaTech, and the power of GE Proficy™. "This is the first time we have been able to offer our clients real time information which will allow them to understand what is happening with their manufacturing and facility systems and proactively be informed, enabling them to control the costs of operating their processes and utility infrastructure." states Paul Banks PE, Principal, B2Q Associates Inc. "The FacilityConneX/B2Q partnership is right in line with our strategy, and not only offers customers a new level of information; it provides them with the insight to be able to prioritize their efforts. This tool provides knowledge, and this knowledge results in efficiencies and cost savings."

Automatech and B2Q deployed FacilityConneX at Southcoast Hospitals in 2012. The software allows Southcoast management to view facilities operations performance across a group of four campuses totaling 1.7 million square feet of space. The software has more than 100 analytics running across 1,000 different pieces of equipment to help monitor and identify performance issues and probable causes. The system then recommends areas where maintenance personnel should investigate and implement corrective actions.

To date, Southcoast has identified more than $500,000 in potential savings by correcting system operation issues identified by the FacilityConneX/B2Q solution.

"Combined, our solution and partnership can help transform facilities data into smart insights and corrective actions that will optimize efficiency and dramatically cut costs," said Tom Schiller, President of AutomaTech. "Our focus on analytics and continuous monitoring of key performance metrics not only maintains uptime, but can catch potential problems before they become serious ones. We're extremely pleased to have B2Q's expertise and team onboard."
