BARRINGTON, IL AND ATLANTA, GA, May 14, 2015 - Today's medical community needs the ability to securely exchange images to collaborate on a patient's care, but the way they need to share that data often differs based on the patient's case. To help improve a provider's availability to share information, GE Healthcare (NYSE:GE) today announced an agreement with OneMedNet Corporation, a pioneer in medical image sharing and exchange technologies. The agreement brings secure peer-to-peer image sharing to healthcare providers in the U.S., in addition to GE's cloud-based solutions.

Enabled by OneMedNet's BEAM Network, providers will have the ability to quickly and securely transfer images using a patented peer-to-peer web-based service.

"Healthcare organizations are investing more today in interoperability to share medical imaging regardless of their location," said Dhiraj Carumbaya, General Manager of PACS Imaging Solutions for GE Healthcare. "Working together with OneMedNet expands our commitment and current portfolio of solutions to deliver efficient and secure vendor-neutral image sharing."

"Sharing medical images gives physicians and providers access to a longitudinal record for a patient across multi-vendor systems, and consequently, delivers high quality of care at lower cost," said Chris Hanna, President and CEO of OneMedNet. "Our team is excited to work with GE Healthcare to give the medical imaging community another option for open and secure sharing."
