Sarah Alter Joins as Senior Vice President of Corporate Marketing; Erin Armendinger Joins as Vice President of Customer Experience

CHICAGO, March 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- General Growth Properties, Inc. (NYSE: GGP) today announced Sarah Alter has joined GGP as senior vice president of Corporate Marketing, and Erin Armendinger has joined as vice president of Customer Experience. Alter and Armendinger each bring two decades of respective marketing and consumer engagement experience to their new roles.

As senior vice president of Corporate Marketing, Alter oversees the corporate marketing, creative services, events management, philanthropy and marketing budget disciplines within GGP. Alter most recently served as vice president of Products & Services for Discover Financial Services, where she drove customer adoption, strategy and engagement for Discover's credit cards, free features, benefits and fee-based cross sell services. Prior to Discover, Alter served in similar management, marketing and sales roles at Staples, Quill.com and A.T. Kearney. Alter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

As vice president of Customer Experience, Armendinger oversees Same Day Delivery, GGP Gift Card and multi-channel retail functions within GGP. Armendinger's experience spans such retail institutions as Tiffany & Co. and the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center at The Wharton School, where she served as managing director and oversaw the Center's think-tank efforts to maximize retail trends for industries and companies. While at Tiffany & Co., Armendinger held various roles in merchandising, strategy and business process improvements. Armendinger holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics from The American University and a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Both Alter and Armendinger report to Senior Vice President Scott Morey. In addition to Corporate Marketing and Customer Experience, Morey also oversees Information Services and Field Marketing.
