General Motors Company : NHTSA Changes Chevrolet TrailBlazer Door-Fire Probe to Engineering Analysis -Reuters

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration raised its probe into reports of fires in doors of some 2006-07 Chevrolet TrailBlazer SUVs to an engineering analysis from a preliminary investigation, Reuters reported Friday.
The NHTSA made the change after data from General Motors Co. (GM) showed 167 reports and 698 warranty claims related to the issue, the report said. A GM spokesman told Reuters that no injuries or accidents related to the issue have been reported.
The investigation now includes 341,786 vehicles, a GM spokesman told Reuters.
