General Motors says China November Sales up 9.7% on Year

SHANGHAI--General Motors Co. (>> General Motors Company) and its joint ventures in China sold 260,018 vehicles in the country in November, up 9.7% from a year earlier, the U.S. auto maker said Thursday.
GM's joint venture with Shanghai's SAIC Motor Corp. (>> SAIC Motor Corporation Limited) sold 136,444 vehicles last month, up 21% from a year earlier, and sales at its joint-venture with FAW Group grew 4.2% to 4,837 units.
Sales at commercial vehicle maker SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., a joint venture between GM, SAIC and Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co., totaled 118,536 units, down 0.5% from a year earlier, said the U.S. car maker.
GM's total sales also include imported vehicles.
GM has 12 joint ventures in China, the world's largest auto market in terms of sales. The company sold more than 2.5 million units in the country last year, beating global rivals like Volkswagen AG and Toyota Motor Corp.
