Kurt E. Stirnemann, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will step down in 2008 on reaching the retirement age of 65. He will remain a member of the Board of Directors of Georg Fischer AG. Kurt E. Stirnemann was President of AGIE AG in 1996 when the company was acquired by Georg Fischer. He then joined the Executive Committee of GF and was President and CEO of the Agie Charmilles Group until 2003. Kurt E. Stirnemann took over as President and CEO of the Georg Fischer Corporation on 12 March 2003 in a period of difficult economic circumstances. He gave new impetus and a new face to GF, developing it into a successful company that is also attractive for the capital market.

At its meeting on 17 December 2007, the Board of Directors of Georg Fischer AG made the following personnel decisions to take effect as of the Annual General Meeting on 19 March 2008.

Kurt E. Stirnemann will be succeeded as CEO by Yves Serra, currently Head of GF Piping Systems. Yves Serra, born in 1953, is a French citizen. He earned his degree in engineering at the Ecole Centrale in Paris and completed a Master of Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States. In 2003 Yves Serra was appointed to the Executive Committee of GF and became Head of GF Piping Systems, which under his management returned high growth-rates and good profitability.

The Board of Directors has appointed Pietro Lori, currently Head of the Europe and Emerging Markets Business Unit of GF Piping Systems, as the new Head of GF Piping Systems and a member of the Executive Committee. Pietro Lori, born in 1956, is an Italian citizen. He took his degree in engineering at the Politecnico di Milano in 1981 and worked in the United States from 1984 to 1988.
