The complete refurbishment of the GF Piping Systems' headquarters in Schaffhausen will begin in May 2018. Over an area of 3'000 square meters, the project will give rise to innovative offices with team, co-working and project rooms, a spacious laboratory and a new training center with attractive training and exhibition rooms. The envelope of the six-story building is being fully upgraded as well. Energy efficiency measures and a new photovoltaic system will bring the building up to the Minergie standard in the future.

The complete refurbishment will take place during ongoing operations. Over the coming months, more than 300 employees will continue to work in GF's surrounding buildings or temporarily relocate within the existing buildings. The production and the logistics center will not be affected by the construction work. The modernization will take around 18 months. Yves Serra, CEO of GF commented: 'We are investing in facilities designed to encourage innovation and where employees can collaborate on projects. This will help increase the attractiveness of our sites.'

GF Piping Systems' building at Ebnatstrasse 111 was originally erected as a two-story structure in 1963. More floors were gradually added over the years and a training center was built in 2004. Today, around 7'000 people visit the center every year and more than 1'800 guests from 55 countries take part in training courses. In 2017, part of the GF headquarters in Schaffhausen was already modernized and equipped with innovative new workplaces.
