New York, July 16, 2014- GFI Group Inc., a leading operator in the global over-the-counter (OTC) and listed markets (NYSE: "GFIG"), announced today that it has received FX Week's award for Best Swap Execution Facility (SEF). This is the 11th edition of the annual e-FX Awards granted by FX Week, an Incisive Media publication.

Colin Heffron, CEO of GFI Group said: "It is a great honor to be designated Best SEF by FX Week's panel of experts. GFI Swaps Exchange is the product of the hard work of many at GFI: our e-markets, technology, compliance, legal and back office teams together with our brokers; who have made it a success. I would like to share this accolade with them."

FX Week noted that GFI won the Best SEF category because of its strong emphasis on combining electronic and human interaction in a hybrid model, a model GFI is known for.

Entries were judged by an expert panel that included FX week's editor, as well as journalists and research analysts from a number of different firms. This was combined with a due diligence process in which customer referees were contacted by FX Week staff to validate submissions.
