GFT has renewed its Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) level 3 certification, designed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI). It is one of the most popular models at an international level for evaluating the quality of processes and their correct application in organisations that develop projects related to IT. In addition, this year we have received the CMMI valuation mark which can be displayed on our website and in our marketing and communication materials.

GFT has been using this CMMI model as the basis of its methodology since 2005, when the Spanish and German sections of the GFT Group obtained the second level of CMMI. Now, with the revalidation of CMMI level 3, according to the official evaluation method of the CMMI Institute SCAMPI Class A V1.3, it is confirmed that the developmental methodology used by GFT meets the requirements of the model and is being applied efficiently in all of the company's projects.

To achieve the accreditation at level 3, all process areas were evaluated, taking into consideration aspects such as; the planning and monitoring of projects, risk management, requirement development, product integration, verification and validation, configuration management, the use of metrics and staff training.

This evaluation covers all of the centres and delivery units of the GFT Group involved in the Global Delivery Model strategy (Germany, Brazil, Spain, Italy, UK, USA), and for the first time also included Costa Rica and Poland. This GFT management model provides our clients with the required service in the right place, because it allows us to assign the most suitable expert for the requirements of each project, regardless of their usual location, whilst a local expert, who is close to the client, coordinates the entire process. As this model is based on an in-house methodology derived from CMMI level 3, it ensures that all clients receive a consistent and efficient quality management, free of irregularities.

Manuel Urban, Chief Operational Risk & Quality Officer for GFT said: 'we have gradually reorganised and harmonised the original local GFT processes with those of the global GFT Group, aligning them with the CMMI model and its drive for continuous improvement. This reinforces the confidence that clients place in us and in the reliability that we offer in all our projects'.
