Marek Dietl Is Appointed President of GPW Management Board

The Ordinary General Meeting of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on 19 June 2017 appointed Mr Marek Dietl as President of the GPW Management Board
According to Article 27(1) of the Act on Trading in Financial Instruments of 29 July 2005, the decision will take effect subject to the approval of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority for the changes on the Exchange Management Board
The GPW General Meeting on 19 June 2017 passed a resolution appointing the President of the Exchange Management Board. Mr Marek Dietl was appointed President of the GPW Management Board. The resolution was adopted by a majority of votes at the request of the Minister of Economic Development and Finance acting on behalf of the State Treasury - a shareholder representing 35 percent of the share capital. The decision will take effect upon the submission to GPW of the decision of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) approving the changes on the Exchange Management Board.
Marek Dietl
Mr Marek Dietl holds a degree from the Warsaw School of Economics and a PhD from the Institute of Economic Sciences, Polish Academy of Sciences. During his PhD programme, he was a fellow at the University of Glasgow. He is Assistant Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) since 2012. In 2012-2013, he was a fellow at the University of Economics, Essex. He completed a two-year programme in finance: EY Executive Studies in Finance. In 1999-2008, he worked with Simon-Kucher & Partners, the international consultancy specialised in price management, in Germany and in Poland, where he was promoted from Intern to Proxy and then to Leader of the Warsaw office. In 2008-2012, he was responsible for venture capital fund investments at Krajowy Fundusz Kapitałowy S.A., initially as Investment Manager and later as Deputy Director for Investments. In 2007-2008, Member of the Supervisory Board of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego. Since January 2017, he sits on the Selection Committee of the fund-of-funds PZU Witelo. He has long experience of work on the Supervisory Boards of listed companies. He has managed three non-public companies and served on the Supervisory Boards of another 12 companies, including Lib-Leasing (2005-2010); BA Seedfund (2006-2008); Inovo Venture Fund (2013-2014); Zernike Meta-Ventures (2013-2014). In 2007-2010, he was the social advisor to three successive Presidents of the Energy Regulatory Office. In 2008-2013, he was Mediator at the Court of Arbitration of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF). He currently serves as Economic Advisor to the President of Poland, Expert and Board Member of Instytut Sobieskiego, and Expert of the Business Centre Club.
