Events in five French cities.

To mark World Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Day, associations of patients (the French League against Multiple Sclerosis, the French Association for Multiple Sclerosis and 'Notre Sclérose') and healthcare professionals, supported by the Merck Laboratory, are organising a tour of various French cities in order to meet the general public and raise awareness about MS and mobilise as many people as possible in the fight against the disease.

A Village named 'Let's box against multiple sclerosis today and for the future' (Boxons la SEP aujourd'hui et pour demain) will be set up in 5 major cities. The Village has been designed and produced by Live ! By GL events Paris. In these Villages, health professionals, patients and members of associations will get together in a boxing ring to share their experiences, give advice, and talk about the reality of the disease and the latest solutions.

The next event is scheduled in Lyon, on Wednesday 30 May, in Place Carnot. The event will be attended by the Deputy Mayor of Lyon who is in charge of the city's policies and initiatives in favour of people with disabilities.

Each stage of the tour includes:

- presentations and activities to raise awareness about the daily life of patients, addressing three key points: public transport, work and home,

- sports and well-being areas to raise awareness about the benefits of sport for all,

- the presentation of a mobile app called 'onStEPs™': coaching exercises involving sports and well-being, adapted to each person's abilities,

- talks given by patient associations and health professionals
to banish certain fixed ideas about the disease and discuss the importance of sport,

- areas in which visitors can talk with members of patient associations and health professionals,

- demonstrations of boxing and other sports by MS patients.

After Toulouse on 26 May, Annecy on 29 May and Lyon on 30 May, the 'Let's box against MS' tour will move on to Paris on 2 June and then to Arras on 6 June.
