GL EVENTS (ISIN: FR0000066672 - TICKER: GLO), THE INTEGRATED EVENT INDUSTRY GROUP, ANNOUNCES THE SIGNATURE OF THE CONCESSION AGREEMENT FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FUTURE AICHI INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE IN JAPAN.

After four months of negotiations as preferred bidder (press release of 21 December 2017), in consortium with the Maeda Group, GL events announces the signature of the 15-year concession agreement for the management of the future Aichi International Exhibition Centre. GL events holds a majority stake in the operating company.

The future 60,000 sqm world class exhibition facility will be located in Tokoname (Nagoya metropolitan area - 2.3 million inhabitants, Japan's 4th largest city), next to Chubu Centrair International Airport. This is the first concession granted to a private operator for the management of a Japanese exhibition facility. With the opening planned for September 2019, it is expected to generate in time revenue of more than €15 million.

Aichi Prefecture is Japan's largest industrial region with 7.5 million inhabitants (7.4% of Japanese GDP) and home to the headquarters of many leaders in their respective markets: Toyota, Denso, Aisin Seiki for automobiles; Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Nagoya Aerospace Systems Works for aerospace; Brother, Yamazaki; Mazak for robotics; and Toyota Tsusho for trading operations. The Aichi/Nagoya region in this way offers substantial development potential for trade shows and exhibitions.

Maeda Corporation, founded in 1919, is a Japanese construction services provider and considered the market leader in concession projects (Japan (Sendai Airport, Aichi Prefecture toll road…).

This project marks a new step in GL events' strategy for developing in the Asia-Pacific region and offers a new foothold for deploying the Group's other business lines, particularly in connection with the future calendar of major international sports events (2019 Rugby World Cup 2020, Tokyo Olympic Games).

With its international network, GL events is greatly honoured by this expression of confidence by the Aichi Prefecture and the partnership with the Maeda Group to manage this new strategic infrastructure that will contribute to the development of the Japanese event industry.
