LONDON--GlaxoSmithKline PLC (>> GlaxoSmithKline plc) Wednesday said it purchased 450,000 ordinary shares on Aug. 8.

MAIN FACTS:

-Highest price paid per share was 1507 pence per share.

-Lowest price paid per share was 1488 pence per share.

-Intends to hold the shares in treasury.

-Shares on Wednesday closed at 1507 pence.
