Glencore Expects to Hold Xstrata Merger Meeting Sept. 7

LONDON--Glencore International PLC (>> Glencore International Plc), a miner and commodity trader, said Wednesday that it expects to hold its adjourned General Meeting in connection with the proposed merger with mining company Xstrata PLC on Sept. 7, adding that the parties expect the merger to complete early in the fourth quarter, subject to approvals.

-Glencore shares at 1030 GMT up 1 pence at 312 pence valuing the company at GBP21.6 billion.
