Evry (France) , 3 October 2017 - Global Bioenergies (Euronext Growth Paris: ALGBE) is strengthening its team to adapt its management structure to future challenges. Luc Mathis, previously CEO of Calyxt (CLXT, Nasdaq), an agro-industrial company based in Minneapolis, joins in as Chief Business Officer. Samuel Dubruque becomes the Group's Chief Financial Officer, and Karlheinz Segebrecht is now the German subsidiary's Director of Engineering.

A science graduate from the Institut Pasteur and CalTech, Luc Mathis has 13 years of experience in business development, in particular as the manager of agro-chemical business development at Cellectis. Following that, he became the CEO of Calyxt, an agro-industrial company recently listed on the Nasdaq and based in Minneapolis, USA. Today, he joins Global Bioenergies as Chief Business Officer.

Luc Mathis declares: "Global Bioenergies has developed a remarkable identity and leadership in the emerging sector of industrial biotechnology. Regulatory and social developments will certainly change the power balance between large corporations and biotech companies, as was the case in the pharmaceutical and agro-biotech sectors. As such, this is the best time to join the Company, boasting an exceptional team and technological maturity, and to make a practical contribution to its commercial expansion."

Marc Delcourt, Chief Executive Officer, adds: "The fact that we were able to attract a high-profile professional like Luc Mathis, with his experience in agrochemistry and business development, is a highlight in the history of Global Bioenergies. The success achieved with our demo plant has propelled us into a new phase, and an increasing number of agreements are presently being discussed with industrial leaders. Luc will help us integrate these partnerships into our business and industrial strategy."

Marc Delcourt, Chief Executive Officer of Global Bioenergies, declares: "I would like to thank François-Henri Reynaud for working by our side these last three years. He has helped steering the Group through a challenging macroeconomic environment, which is now markedly improving. I am counting on Samuel Dubruque to continue this mission as we enter a new phase in the Company's development."

Samuel Dubruque, Chief Financial Officer of Global Bioenergies, adds: "The Company has major ambitions and the means to achieve them. The major capital expenditures are behind us, and we benefit today from a good financial visibility. It is our mission now to execute the business plan."

He was responsible for national and international construction projects and managed up to 85 people. Today, Karlheinz Segebrecht takes the leadership of the engineering activities of Global Bioenergies GmbH.

Ales Bulc, Chief Executive Officer of Global Bioenergies GmbH, declares: "The demo plant's construction was completed at the end of 2016. The first months of 2017 were devoted to the unit's gradual start-up; today, it is operating across the entire technical chain. The allocation of such extensive responsibilities to Karlheinz Segebrecht reflects this transition. He will know best how to manage the unit and successfully improve the process's performance."

Karlheinz Segebrecht, Director of Engineering at Global Bioenergies GmbH, details: "We are the only ones truly promoting the direct fermentation of gaseous hydrocarbons, which involves combining and articulating fermentation activities with petrochemical modules. Operating such an innovative process requires flawless organisation in an environment where human and material safety take priority."
