Covington, LA, January 4, 2018- Globalstar, Inc. (NYSE American: GSAT) will showcase its newest M2M/IoT device, the SmartOne Sola™, at the upcoming CES Show, January 9-12 in Las Vegas. The Company's newest product is solar-powered and offers Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity while addressing the growing global demand for reliable and affordable remote monitoring and automated data collection of assets located both within and beyond terrestrial networks. This product expands the market for remote connectivity to include assets that are otherwise difficult or expensive to reach for power replacement and lowers the operating cost of monitoring assets currently being served by legacy SmartOne products. The product is currently pending IECEx and ATEX-Zone 0 Certification to qualify the device as intrinsically safe.

TGI Connect, an asset management solutions provider and Globalstar Value Added Reseller (VAR), participated in Alpha testing of the SmartOne Solar product to evaluate the effectiveness of this new product.

'The team at TGI is excited about the launch of Globalstar's new SmartOne Solar device. We see this new product as a game changer for TGI and its customers as it eliminates the need for periodic battery changes and enables more message capability without the fear of battery depletion,' said Bill Chornomaz, Director of Operations at TGI Connect. 'The real excitement however comes from the Bluetooth Low Energy capability, allowing for more future device-to-device connectivity and opens doors to new possibilities and value to TGI's customers.'

SmartOne Solar's rechargeable batteries can deliver over eight years of serviceable life. Without exposure to the sun, a fully-charged unit can operate for many months while reporting twice daily. The product's Bluetooth connectivity allows wireless device configuration and firmware upgrades in the field.

'For over ten years Globalstar has been creating IoT/M2M development products to meet the needs of our customers with critical data monitor and remote asset management needs,' said Jay Monroe, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Globalstar.
