It's Award season again… that magical time of year when predictions are made, illegal downloads are shared and binge-watching nominated films is a certified sport. And while all the A-listers in Hollywood are making space on their mantle for a guy named Oscar, GoPro's got its eyes on a different golden statue… an Edison!
The Edison Awards are named after Thomas Edison (yup, the light bulb guy). Dubbed 'the Oscars of Innovation,' the Edison Awards honor the world's best innovations and innovators, and have recognized our Fusion camera as a finalist in the Media, Visual Communications and Entertainment Category (try fitting that on a teleprompter!).
Fusion was selected as a finalist by the Edison Awards Steering Committee and an independent judging panel comprised of more than 3,000 professionals from the fields of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education. The 360-camera was recognized for its superior design and engineering and for the OverCapture feature of the GoPro app.
We'll have to wait until April 11 to find out if we were awarded a gold, silver or bronze award in our category… but like all the greats say, it's an honor just to be nominated at all (cue exit music).
