OEM suppliers, TU Dresden University of Technology and project partners are looking forward to present their second major project at Agritechnica 2017 in the scope of the CAB Concept Cluster: the Smart CAB. A multifunctional cabin for selfpropelled vehicles such as harvesters and field sprayers, the Smart CAB is an impressive testimonial of what is already possible and will become reality in the near future. 'We are
not generating innovations for their own sake,' says Mag. Michael Aichinger-Rosenberger, Head of Research & Development and member of the Executive Board at HELLA Fahrzeugteile Austria GmbH, 'we transfer major trends such as serial-tested modularity, x2x-usability and smart farming into real added
value for our customers: flexibility, future security, and profitability.'

(Jengen, June 23rd, 2017) Today, flexibility is a key term in production and development. Hence, serial-tested modularity of the Smart CAB entails that all innovations showcased - from matrix beam technology over the operator system to its steel structures - are near start of production or already serial tested. They can be combined in a flexible manner and modified to all types of machines.

To ensure maximum x2x-usability, the cabin features an exceptional high-performance CAN structure. Thanks to its open system there are no limits in terms of interconnection, thus offering maximum future safety and ensuring smooth interaction amongst driver, machine, cloud, drone and all other components
imaginable. Profitability is the focus of applications in the area of smart farming. New functions can be uploaded by means of an integrated connectivity unit and a separate feature store. Manufacturers and farmers can also share data of general interest to establish new business models and thus increase
profitability.

'Looking into the future always means playing with ideas. The Smart CAB bundles ideas that clearly benefit users,' concludes Fritz Schadeck, Vice President at Fritzmeier Cabs. 'We are going to show these ideas at Agritechnica 2017 like a firework of innovations whilst still focusing on the vital subjects
such as safety or driver comfort.'

The Smart CAB will be showcased at Agritechnica in Hanover from 12th to 18th November 2017 in hall 17/booth D53.

CAB Concept Cluster: Short profile
The CAB Concept Cluster is a platform founded in 2014 by experienced OEM suppliers, TU Dresden University of Technology and various global innovators and associations. Focus of the cluster is on manufacturers of construction equipment, agricultural vehicles and industrial forklift trucks with the
objective to bundle innovations close-to-production in joint projects to showcase the potential of efficient systems integration. For the Genius CAB presented at the bauma 2016, the cluster has received several awards and showed how innovation and customer value can be bundled in a customerneutral
platform using a wheel loader cab. At Agritechnica 2017, the cluster is going to present its latest project, the Smart CAB. The members of the CAB Concept Cluster are: AURORA, Robert Bosch GmbH,Fritzmeier Group, GRAMMER, HELLA, HYDAC, MEKRA Lang, S.M.A., Lumod, TU Dresden University of Technology, AEF (Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation), DEULA (Federal Association of German Training Centers for
Agricultural Engineering) and DLG with the supplier platform Systems & Components as hosting Partner.
