WATSONVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Granite Construction Incorporated (NYSE:GVA) announced today that it has named Mathew C. Tyler as senior vice president of its federal division, effective January 12, 2015. Tyler will be responsible for growing Granite's portfolio of federal division projects and services, reporting directly to Christopher S. Miller, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Granite, Tyler spent 20 years with CH2M HILL, a global consulting, design, design-build, operations and program management company. Most recently he served as senior vice president, director of design-build services for CH2M HILL Constructors, Inc. He has 30 years of industry experience and is a recognized leader in all aspects of project management, business development, design-build construction, project delivery and financial management.

Tyler is a professional engineer and project management professional. He holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University.
