OPAP Group and AEK BC presented on Thursday 5 October 2017, their sponsorship cooperation for the 2017-2018 season and the new jerseys of the team. SCRATCH, the Hellenic Lotteries' game that offers 'luck in an instant' will be the grand sponsor of AEK BC with its logo featuring on the club's official jerseys. The sponsorship cooperation between OPAP, the leading group in the games of chance industry in Greece, and AEK BC has completed its fourth year.

Presenting the cooperation, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer,Odysseas Christoforou, said: 'AEK is one of the most historic teams of Greek basketball; the first Greek team that won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1968. We are proud of our cooperation that is based on our common values ​- fair play and team spirit - and the significant actions we jointly undertake to support Greek society. Moreover, I would like to point out that OPAP has a leading role in basketball and this is a strategic choice of ours. For the new season, we wish good luck to AEK's management, its coaches and players, both in Greece and Europe''.

On his part, the OPAP Brand, Marketing Communication and Sponsorship Director, Panos Bollas, pointed out: 'The cooperation between OPAP and AEK through SCRATCH - which is one of our most popular and successful games - in addition to its symbolic and historical value, also has a great commercial success for us. Over the past few years, in cooperation with AEK, we have been implementing a series of initiatives that enable the fans of SCRATCH and AEK to live unique experiences''.

The Commercial Director of AEK BC, Leonidas Papavasilakis, characteristically stated: ''We would like to thank OPAP for the quality and level of our cooperation. In terms of AEK's values, partnerships such as this constitute a responsibility, not in a strict and formal framework, but in terms of building of values ​​that we jointly profess and transfer to society. The special event that was held at the OPAP offices was attended by the CEO of AEK BC, Charis Koutas, the entire AEK team as well as film director Mr. Tasos Boulmetis. The latter's new film, '1968', describes AEK's history and winning the European Cup in 1968 with a historic triumph over Slavia Prague that handed Greece its first European title.
