The New Energy Institute is an extremely sustainable office building in which the integrated vision on sustainable buildings in China is demonstrated to the full. The excellent concept combines new energy applications and sophisticated technology into a low-carbon, comfortable, intelligent, efficient and unique artistic design. The prestigious icon project has already won various awards, including the international design competition that China organised in 2010 and the Vernufteling in 2011.

Barry van Sloten, director Construction & Real Estate, is enormously proud of the international nomination by colleagues of the FIDIC. 'A building with a shape and size of this kind in this challenging natural environment can only be realised by observing a clear vision on sustainability and by integrating multi-disciplinary engineering and designing disciplines in an early stage. It is an eye-catcher that has been attracting international attention for years now and that serves as an important example of sustainable development.'

FIDIC 2015
The FIDIC Awards are presented annually to projects that contribute to the global economy and that aspire after a higher quality of life. The international award is an initiative of branch organisation International Federation of Consulting Engineers with representatives from all of the national engineering associations.
